TAC (Transport Accident)

If you have been injured in a transport accident in Victoria, you may be eligible for TAC coverage. The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) provides no-fault insurance for injuries from car, motorcycle, bicycle, or pedestrian accidents.

Our GPs can provide initial assessment, ongoing treatment, and all necessary documentation for your TAC claim. We can also refer you to specialists and allied health providers as needed.

Medical certificates and documentation
Impairment assessments

What to Bring

  • TAC claim number (if you have one)
  • Police report or accident details
  • Previous medical records if available
  • List of current symptoms and concerns

Note: TAC consultations are billed directly to the TAC. There is usually no out-of-pocket cost to you.

Certificate of Capacity

For WorkCover claims, you will need a Certificate of Capacity from your treating doctor. This certificate:

  • Documents your injury and its impact on work capacity
  • Outlines treatment required and expected recovery time
  • Must be renewed regularly (usually every 4 weeks)
  • Required for income replacement benefits

WorkCover (WorkSafe)

If you have been injured at work, WorkCover (administered by WorkSafe Victoria) provides compensation and support for your recovery. This includes medical expenses, income replacement, and rehabilitation services.

Your GP plays a central role in managing your WorkCover claim, providing treatment, issuing certificates, and coordinating your return to work.
